To Love Deeply

If you’ve never truly hated someone with the deepest of bitter resentment and the hottest fire of burning rage–then do you truly know what it is to love someone?
If ever the black crashing waves of the purest loathing have never pummeled you, sucking you under in the fierce current of their bottomless depths, then tell me–how do you ascend into that sweet paradise of sublime beauty in equal measure?

To love deeply is to risk letting the pits of hell take you into their unrelenting embrace.
To crash unexpectedly into that fiery inferno, arms and legs akimbo as you pinwheel helplessly through the air.
To feel a thousand deaths as you watch your dreams sputter and die, winking out one by one.

But the glaring tragedy here is not having to survive such unbearable loss, no–the real tragedy here is to never have felt that kind of consuming love at all.

Hello and welcome to my page~ My name is Larisa--a very common Slavic name that was either derived from the Latin word hilaris, meaning "cheerful," or from the Greek city of Larissa, meaning "strong fortress." Born in Ukraine, I emigrated with my family to America when I was still a small child and now make my home in the beautiful Pacific Northwest. Growing up immersed in two vastly differing cultures led me to have a burning curiosity about people all over the world. Stemming from said curiosity, I have fallen in love with traveling to other countries, meeting new people and delving into their culture, exploring new cities, and of course, dining on the local cuisine! If I cannot escape into a different country, then my next favorite method of adventure is to lose myself in a spectacular book. I enjoy books of all genres--from fiction and novels, to biographies and ethnographies. As long as it captures my fancy and holds me spellbound the entire time, I will burn through the book like a forest fire! Because of this penchant for reading and travel, coupled with my love of deep and mysterious things, I have been often called a dreamer and I find the title suits me. With that being said, I invite you to stay a while, perhaps make yourself a cup of tea and linger through my posts and feel free to comment or share a thought :-)

  1. ‘To love deeply is to risk letting the pits of hell take you into their unrelenting embrace.’ This is probably why so few people actually fall in love. They’re so preoccupied with never being hurt, that they miss out on the greatest reward to any risk. And yes, it’s time for me to be checking out all of your posts. 😉

    1. I don’t have much, Rob, just a few ramblings and then some outpouring of my emotions here and there. I had a lot more on my previous blog on here that I deleted because I was too emotionally tied to it. This was several years ago. I honestly revived this blog quite by accident—I sat down to attempt penning a book and when I opened up my internet browser on my Mac, this blog was saved on the homepage from 2 years ago and I clicked it out of curiosity. Imagine my surprise to find that my posts were still there even though I had stopped paying for my domain. My blog was littered with ads on every square inch of space, but I was inspired to breathe a little life into it again in that moment. It feeds my creativity. And that brings us to this moment 😉 I could say some more stuff about love in response to your comment but I think this comment is becoming quite long 😅
